Three Local Restaurants to Try in Azusa

There is a lot to love about the Azusa community. The scenic, natural surroundings provide plenty of space for outdoor activities, like hiking, biking, boating, or just spending a relaxing afternoon shopping or enjoying local cuisine.

Max’s Mexican Cuisine

When you are hankering for some authentic, homemade Mexican food, Max’s Mexican Cuisine is the place to be. Their menu is packed with plenty of tacos, burritos, combination plates, desserts, soups, salads, appetizers, and thoughtful selections for your lighter appetites. And that’s just the breakfast menu. This family-owned and operated business is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and open Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Online orders are welcome, and delivery is offered through GrubHub. 

Canyon City Barbecue

Often referred to as one of the best restaurants in Azusa, Canyon City wrote the book on barbecue. Their delicious selection of pork ribs, beef brisket, chicken, and other dishes are slow-smoked and mouth-wateringly good. Grab a burger, sandwich, pulled pork, or a salad—there is something for everyone. Open Thursday through Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., with online ordering available.

Try the honey walnut shrimp or the crab rangoon for a truly satisfying lunch. Or try the Vietnamese spring roll, miso soup, or steamed dumpling. Couwami offers fresh seafood, steak, chicken, and pork dishes, as well as soups and salads. And they offer a huge array of vegetarian choices, all prepared with fresh ingredients. Online ordering is available for takeout orders and delivery.
